Ants or Termites?
Many homeowners needlessly worry themselves by mistaking ants for termites. Here are some of of the more obvious differences between the two:
Ants have distinctly elbowed antennae. Termites have straight or gently curved antennae.
-
Ants have constricted "waists" and an hourglass shape. Termites' bodies are cigar-shaped.
-
When present, both the front and back wings of termites are about the same length. The front wing of an ant, when present, is longer than the back wing.
Of course, it's possible that the insect you have in your hand is an ant, but that you also have a hidden termite problem; so just to be sure, why not give us a call for a free pest inspection?
